for you but here it is. I asked last week about my needle resting at two ticks below 0 on the vacuum side of my Autometer Sport Comp gauge when the engine is turned off. I thought that discrepency could have been causing my low boost reading instead of safety boost. A couple of people here thought that my engine-off needle position was normal and was caused by either atmospheric conditions or the engine being in a normal vacuum condition when not running. Autometer verified that my gauge was faulty and needed to be repaired and could indeed be the cause of my low boost reading. I'm debating on whether or not I should fix mine or buy a better quality gauge such as SPI. I always thought AutoMeter was a good brand but I have talked to a couple other people who have the same problem. So you may want to inspect your gauges.
